Did UK Job Centres ever really advertise jobs that require people to be fluent in Urdu and Punjabi? That's shocking if it's true.
shareJob Centres (or their equivalents) all over the world advertise jobs where they only want people who can speak fluent Frence, Chinese, Spanish etc (as well as English - obviously Trevor would not have been able to read the advert if it was in Urdu or Punjabi) - what's so shocking about that??

I suspect that was Trevor making a snide racist comment.. many people like him believe that people from the ethnic minorities get special treatment, and the reason he is in his position is due to discrimination against him for being white. (nothing of course, to do with his own behaviour....)
That said, I'm sure there are jobs in some city areas, where staff deal with large numbers of people from those communities, where ability to speak those languages would be needed, and reasonably so. But not the type of job Trevor was referring to.. so I go back to the opinion he was voicing a widely held belief/prejudice.
