Wow...

I'm really shocked that this message board is so empty considering how much of an amazing film Made In Britain was!

reply

it's probably because it deals with a culture that caused a lot of friction and a lot of embaressment to most britons nowadays
i don't think we should forget it but we should not idolize it

lol bullsh*t, there's more than enough about Germany's WWII history in our history books.

reply

Yeah because history isn't written by the victors when we're the victors. lol i bet you didn't even know that the jews declared war on germany in 1933.

reply

You referring to this?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_boycott_of_German_goods

A group of people cannot declare war on a country, only countries can do that.
I see antisemitism on the internet here and there due to conspiracy theories and/or stupidity in general and it never ceases to surprise me.
Nice try moron.

I saw this film almost 20 years ago when I was 15. I asked many people throughout the years if they'd heard of it. None had, so I'm glad it's finally become available and I can talk about it with others.

It blew my mind when I first saw it and I was glued to the screen. It filled me with the electricity of watching something forbidden. At first I thought it was a documentary, following this magnetic wacko like a tiger on the loose. I waited for him to attack the camera man who seemed to try to cage him into the frame. Trevor served as a triumphant contrast to the well-meaning but impotent cogs in the social mechanism around him. The muted lighting and minimal budget makes it all the more penetrating!

"And a Happy New Year to you, George Bailey.... in jail!"

they need to show this on c4 or something

It stands the test of time, for sure.

Yes,an early bit of actor Tim Roth's genius and range,in an honest film from
another viewpoint.Nothing to be ashamed of,once one realizes that freedom of speech be it newspaper or theater.
Sean Chapman was brilliant.Alan Clarke, hats off and David Leyland made it all possible.
A film buff,I am keenly aware of it being a movie and not a campaign.
A moment of silence on my part on the passing of Roger Ebert,a dear friend.

I saw Made In Britain for the first time a few days ago on you tube. What a powerful film that was...WOW!! I read that the director would purposely make Tim real mad so he would take all his rage from the abuse and bullying he suffered from his real life childhood and incorporate it into the movie. I think Tim did an awesome job of that! The intensity of his rage was so strong and powerful I could actually feel it!! I do feel sad that Tim had to go through such a painful childhood, no child should have to go through that...but he sure turned out to be a hell of an actor and quite handsome as well! Good for you Tim, Love and God Bless You! And now, I'm going to buy the dvd. :)

Here is a bit I read about Tim's anger: "Being small and awkward, he was picked on. He has admitted that the rage he brought to his filmic debut as Trevor in Alan Clarke's Made In Britain was partly about paying all those bastards back. Alan knew how to get that performance out of me - he tapped into my anger, a real bitter hatred."

He was also abused until his early teens, he won't say who abused him, but says it wasn't his father.
