Steve Antin

Did anyone else see the Accused before they saw this film. It's a weird experience watching some guy you always thought of as a rapist psycho as just your average pig. I just kept thinking "you gang raped Jodi Foster you ass"

What I can't understand is why they cast such a blatently gay man as the womanizer. Nothing against Steve Antin, who is a fine actor, but quite obviously, in every role he plays, comes off as gay. Even in The Accused he was, for lack of a better term, swishy.

HA, now that you mention it.

I thought he was "swishy" too, in The Goonies.

reply

That's right! I forgot about that one.

In 1981 having a tattoo in high school was...unusual.

reply

Because he is gay in real life.

reply

Geez, I'm gay and I couldn't tell Steven Antin is gay. I saw this film back in 1983, and I really had a crush on the guy.

reply

Does anyone else think he kind of looks like the professional wrestler Chris Jericho??

There is a season Turn Turn Turn

he kind of looked like the actor who played the psycho murderer in Death wish 2 with Charles Bronson.

Saw a little bit of THE ACCUSED, but it slipped my mind one of the rapists was played Rick. Seen the GOONIES too, but can't remember him in it.

Saw LAV in 1982 when it was on HBO or Showtime or someone had the VHS tape of it. Saw the Accused on VHS and then made the comment to some friends we should go play some pinball. One guys gf got all pissed

reply

I was 14 when this came out and all of us girls had HUGE crushes on him. All the boys in school in the early 80's were pretty effeminate...lol. They were really into their hair and clothing, etc.
