Has no one mentioned the ugly fat girl Gary tried to bang?

There's been a lot of discussion about whether Gary was a creeper or a romantic. And also about how Rose was totally infatuated with him much like the way he was about Karen (and Rose was pretty hot and had a rockin' bod!) but he was oblivious to this because of his obsession with Karen.

But what about Millie, the homely overweight girl who not only was totally not attractive in any way, but was rude and totally indifferent to him. Yet he awkwardly put the moves on her, takes her shirt off and is about to cut her bra off with scissors, while she tries to ignores him staring at the ceiling while stuffing potato chips in her face.

What? he thought he was too good for Rose (who I would have been all over), and was too nervous to confess his feelings to Karen or to bang the very VERY willing pizza woman Carmela (the prostitute make sense, I wouldn't let my dog fvck her) but he is totally fine with putting the moves on that rude fat slob?

Yeah, I don't get that either. I guess it's because his two buddies were already shacked up with the other two chicks, so Gary figured what the hey, don't wanna be left out.

Whatever the reason, it did make for a hilarious scene. Millie just sitting there stuffing here face, looking off to the side as Gary tries in vain to get her bra off....love it.

The calls are coming from inside the house.

That was my take on it. He couldn't just sit there and not try while the other dudes are getting some ass in the other room.

A woman's perspective here:

I agree that Gary just didn't want to feel left out with the heavy girl at the beginning and didn't want his friends making fun of him if he didn't score. But as far as Rose, remember, his main chances with her occurred later WHILE Karen was there! There was no way he could bring himself to be with someone else with Karen RIGHT THERE (not too mention making out with his friend right in his face). As far as any more f the others such as the hooker or Carmela, Karen wasn't around then so it was easier to put her out of his mind and just go along with the guys. But the times Karen WAS around, then know way would he be able to "get it up" so to speak with Rose.

Again, I'm a woman, but that's what I was thinking during the movie. My feeling is, any of us can date or whatever....but if someone we REALLY desire/love is around - then forget it. No way does anyone else in the room matter.

One of the funniest scenes in the film is just before Gary's parents walk in, and Gary's trying to cut her bra with scissors while she's sat there munching, with potato chips all over her chest. Classic! I also loved her "That's the best Colombian I've ever had" line after snorting Sweet N Low. But in relation to the OP's thread, it's pure hormones at work. They just want sex at every given opportunity and most boys that age aren't particularly fussy where they get it from.

Yep, a fat girl was just as good as a tube sock.

What about her? Well, she tried to burn the school down in 21 Jump Street.

It's a bit mean to call her "ugly", but I get she was presented as not being very appealing. I think a lot of that had to do with her body language and sourpuss expression. I'd actually be interested in seeing what the actress looks like glammed up and dressed in a different way. She's probably not too bad looking. Then again, as a high school kid I absolutely would have considered getting with her "slumming". I was much more shallow then.

Looks like the actress Winnifred Freedman has had a long career and is still working. But the only pictures of her on the IMDB page are as Millie from Last American Virgin. That was her very first movie, and she was good in her part.
