It may lack gore... it may lack specail effects. But the story is really creepy. and to see and hear what the Incubus has done to it's victims is sick!!!!!

I agree, but I must say that there was a bit of gore in this one though.
I thought this was a really good movie & am glad I bought it at a used video store.
Yeah I can't believe so many people have given this movie a low rating. I thought it was pretty creepy, the rape attacks were very disturbing, it did have a lot of gore and the story moved along pretty quickly.
The bad thing:
They never really explained why the boyfriend kept having the visions.
Why the incubus chose the human form it did.
Why the incubus continued to haunt that particular town.
Why did the first victim survive the attack, when it killed all the others.
But overall it entertained me.
The boyfriend was the Incubus's brother, that's why he had the visions. There is a scene where he says "you're my sister" and then he tries to kill her but accidentally stabs himself.
The incubus took that female form to escape suspicion, so it could keep raping without getting caught.
There was a history of witchcraft in that town, its mother was a witch impregnated by an incubus, so it stayed there.
And the first victim probably survived because the rape was interrupted by that girl's boyfriend.
Thank you for explaining everything! I've seen this film many times and yet, I still couldn't figure out the answer to the first three questions you answered. I guess it was that ending that I didn't see coming. You know, even though this is a horror film, its also a very good who-dunnit as well. Very seldom do I see horror films that are layered with a good dose of mystery like this film.

- What's with the whole incest subtone between dad and daughter?
- Why does the journalist look like dad's ex-girlfriend?
- If the sherrif already knew it was similar with cases 30 years ago why not bring it up.
- What's with dads flashback when he was chasing his ex gf, did he kill her?
- What's the deal with all these subplots that don't have any meaning?
Dunno, when i was a kid I was very startled by the ending, after seeing it again 20 years later im like meeeh, they must have smoked some strong *beep* before making this one.
I remember the movie had a creepy shock ending.

Yeah, overall this is pretty sick stuff.
Entertaining movie, though.
