Sad Scene

The scene in which we are back at Frances' parent's house years later and it is all in disrepair. The wall paper peeling away, weeds overflowing on the lawn, paint cracking on the house and the house having an air of gloom. I find this scene very sad and made more depressing by Lillian saying they need to get Frances' room painted, thinking her daughter will come and see them again. While the father looking from his yellowed paper thinking how deluded his wife is.

Look again at that scene and you'll see Kim Stanley as Lillian pasting a picture of the real Frances Farmer into a scrapbook.
