Was your high school experience ..?

As eventful and fun as it seemed to be for the Fast Times characters? Mine wasn’t at all and I hated going. I had friends and played baseball but I did not enjoy the high school experience. It’s weird though as looking back I should have as I was with my friends all day and could meet girls.

Did you enjoy high school and enjoy it to the fullest? I’ll always remember the line the guidance counselor gives Judge Reinholds character about the high school years being the best time of his life .

I was a "middle dog" - not a big dog or a little dog. I got along with everyone and had a lot of friends, but because of my birthday, I was young (I started college at 17) compared to most kids. Fortunately, I was taller than most guys so I wasn't targeted for bullying.

My high school memories are overall good, but I grew as a person exponentially after I left. There are those who peak in HS, and I'm sure they dream of those days. I occasionally think of my time in HS including the guys I know longer stay in contact with (I graduated in 1975 so it was a while), but I don't long for them.

Almost every minute I was in high school sucked. I wish there had been somebody like Mr. Hand, but most of the teachers were jaded hacks just going through the motions. I learned more ditching classes and sitting in the library. All the student elections, "rah rah" football crap, and teen social nonsense was excruciatingly juvenile and boring. I dropped out after my junior year, and got my diploma a year later at adult night school. I eventually went to university and graduated with high honors and a perfect GPA. High school is a waste of time. I feel pity for those who attend depressing reunions every ten years, for whom high school was the high point of life. Not much could be sadder.

While I loved the girls I hated school because I was in special education and did not get along very well with many of my classmates in special education, if it wasn't for the pretty girls I would've dropped out of school and give up on life, the best years of my life were the last seven years (with the exception of 2020 of course).
