The Real Linda and Stacey

1981. I met a girl named Linda. Linda actually has a strong resemblance to Phoebe Cates. 3 months later, while I was out of town for a week, Linda married an older guy. Linda's best friend was Gloria. Gloria told me that she and Linda were the real life girls that Cameron mentioned in his book-which became the movie. When I gave her that look, she pulled out her yearbook and proved it-cameron's picture and all.

So, the real life Stacy was Gloria. She was a cheerleader in her senior year, but Cameron had only stayed at the school (Claremont High) for a year (undercover to write the book-he graduated high school at age 14-see Almost Famous). Gloria actually had the house with pool and so on. Linda's family lived next door in a rent house owned by Gloria's family (why the two girls were friends).

Linda got pregnant her senior year but didn't marry the baby's father until two years later. Linda's husband had been in the navy for a few years by then. They're still married and had a total of three kids.

Gloria never married. Matter of fact, she is quite commitment phobic. We dated for two years but her lack of commitment doomed our relationship. Gloria's funniest real life moment: she once no showed for a wedding, leaving the groom at the altar with a church full of people while she was on a plane to Hawaii.
