Not bad for a film that was pretty much just a spoof about the 80's
It wasn't just a spoof of the '80's. It was actually the writer's/producer's and also the director's reminiscences of their senior high school experiences from the early 1960's. The writer/producer only got to produce the movie by the early 1980's. Although the director may've had some senior high school in the late 1950's!
