Damien Cain is in talks to pen the script which is actually a sequel to the original.

a group of bank robbers with a hostage flea a bank with deputies in pursuit. The robbers take a route off the highway in which a tree falls to block the deputies in pursuit who are blocked from chasing. The deputy chief visits an Asylum where they visit Ash who has been found guilty of reason of insanity for possible murders of his sister and friends and others missing. They need him to take them to a possible hide out where the robbers may be as he is the only one who knows how to get there, but they encounter weird happenings as does the robbers in the cabin.

this may act as a sequel to the original or a sequel to all, but so far that is the rumored story.

Plus since this would take place just after AOD, Campbell would be too old to play that age Ash. They'd have to recast.

You don't read clearly? In this sequel, Ash is old and has been in the asylum, AOD never happened, it was all in his demented mind so we think. So Ash leaves with authorities to track down the robbers in that area where the cabin resides.

No I don’t read nonexistent text clearly I suppose. Nobody’s perfect. Where in your post does it say Ash has been in the asylum for 30 plus years.

I read that, but the 30 years later part was absent. It could have been 1 year after the cabin incident for all anyone can know by that description. Also, there were a handful of episodes in season 2 of Ash Vs. Evil Dead series that took place in an asylum with Ash trying to be convinced by a demon that he was deluded and had actually been arrested and committed there 30 years prior just after killing his friends in the cabin. I'd hate for them to just totally ignore everything from Army of Darkness and Ash Vs ED.

They ignore the Starz tv series, this is a very serious tone of film.
