You could say the same about several other Spielberg films, but man this movie is just something we all need, and keep needing. I feel bad for the parallel universes where this movie never happened. He was his best friend, man! When he gets on that ship, it's the end of an era. It keeps being the end of a new era every time I watch it.

shareI wish I could agree with you. Spielberg is my favorite director. But ET falls into the category of 'disappointments'. Not a bad film but not as great as I had hoped.
