Question about Harrison Ford in ET

So, its been known for some time that there was a scene involving Harrison Ford as the principle at Elliots school.
The scene was eventually cut from the film but you can still find it online.
The scene was somewhat of a strange performance for Ford, not simply because hes only seen from behind or hidden in shadows, but because it was slightly hammy (some over the top hand gestures) and he put on an accent (you can still tell its Ford though.)

Anyhow, i recently watched ET for the first time in years and i could swear that the cop who was at Elliots house when he goes missing was Harrison Ford.
Again, the cop is only shown from behind (just like the cut principle scene) but his voice sounds an awful lot like Ford with a slight accent.
Some friends of mine were also watching the film and they agreed 100% that its Ford.

IMDB had s different actor credited as the cop but i think Fords voice may have been dubbed in.

I tried looking on the internet for any news on this but found nothing.
Anyone have any infor to confirm this?

After having watched the principal's office scene, I'm glad it was cut. The dialog, mentioning drugs, etc. is unnecessary in a film for small children.
