I've never, ever seen bedroom doors that are open like that, with slats. Closets, sure. But a bedroom? You'd have to masturbate very quietly.
Did anyone else ever have bedroom doors like those? Why do you suppose they had doors like that in the movie? Was it a choice by the movie's production team to have doors like that for some reason?

I seem to remember at least one scene with dramatic lighting through the slats. That's probably the reason. I've never seen a door like for sale outside of closet doors.
shareYup, I posted the original post while I was still watching. Later in the movie, when the scientists invade and take over the house, they have that "dramatic" lighting scene just like you said.

Our first house had a bedroom door like that. Since we don't have kids, we kept it propped open. Didn't really like it, but it was far down our list of things to change. We moved before we got around to it.
