I'm so glad he came to his senses and didn't go ahead with it lol. Talk about totally ruining a legacy. Just that title alone is laughably bad.
Anyway, it does sound like he adapted some of the plot of "Nocturnal Fears" for "War Of The Worlds."

With so much money to be made from sequels, a Saturday morning cartoon etc. kudos to the 'Berg for choosing the integrity of his masterpiece over the all mighty dollar.

There was nowhere to go with a sequel that didn't diminish the original.

I have to say the treatment seemed simplistic and a few nods to the original, but the horror aspect robs the innocence of the first. I'm glade it didn't happen.

I'm just as glad this wasn't made. ET is a film about the friendship between a boy and an alien, not about children being tortured by aliens.

I have to admit that I don't hate the treatment. I think a more horror oriented ET sequel would have been interesting, and I think they could have pulled it off. I'm glad it was never made though.
