New sci-fi thriller series starring Winona Ryder on Netflix story takes place in the 1980's and is a mix of E.T./Super 8/Goonies.
I just binged watch the whole thing in one day. The show is incredible.

they pay so much homage to E.T and its really well done. I love the series.
shareHaha for sure the bike scene was awesome. I read in an interview with the girl that the directors wanted the kids to her as if she was the E.T. from E.T the movie. Hence the blonde wig homage to E.T.
What a terrific show and to get such quality storytelling normally reserved for a blockbuster movie as a TV series was a real treat.
i dunno... ST more than paid homage... it's treading on plagiarizing.
shareYou have a point, although I do like ST a lot (I haven't finished it yet). The Duffer Brothers (who made ST) can't really deny it, as the "sizzle reel" they made to pitch the idea for their show was just clips of this movie and some others from the '80s edited together.

My mother and I started watching it one night. I thought it was going to be stupid. It was amazing. I can't wait for season 2.
