Let's list other childhood favorites...

I'm convinced the government must've been conducting a mass brainwashing when this movie was played on TV! From reading all of these posts I have to admit it's really eerie how I have all the same memories of scenes yet also couldn't place a name.

There were a few other rarely mentioned gems I saw as a child that I'll list here since the people that remember this movie probably would be interested in seeing similar ones. Some of them may/may not be as good the second time around but I have fond memories of them from my childhood.

Ghost Story - 1981
Trilogy of Terror - 1975(TV)
Night of the Comet - 1984
The Changeling - 1980
Creepshow 2 - 1987 (never saw the first one)

I'm going to have to check out Dark Night of the Scarecrow...haven't yet seen it.

Hey! I just saw "Creepshow 2" (for the umpteenth time) a few weeks ago. I get the Chiller Channel now (awesome). Definitely check out the original "Creepshow" when you get a chance.

"The Changeling"! I still have nightmares and there's a rumor that a remake is in the works.

Some of my childhood-TV-horror-movie faves are:

"Are You in the House Alone?" - A young Dennis Quaid is a sweaty rapist

"Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell" - The two kids from the "Escape from With Mountain" series become possessed by their German Shepherd

"Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" - Kim Darby and the little people

"Alice Sweet Alice" - Brooke Shields makes her first Holy Communion; saw this on HBO in the early days

"Satan's School For Girls" - awesome

"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men."

It seems that only a handful of us have seen "Devil Dog"! My husband thinks I'm making the movie up, too. He's always like, "No ... you must've dreamt something like that." Yeah, I'm creative ... but not that creative. But good news! I joined Blockbuster Online and they have "Devil Dog" (along with "Alice Sweet Alice" and "Satan's School For Girls")! There is a VERY LONG WAIT for the "Devil Dog" DVD (it figures), but I added it to my queue (or whatever) anyway.

they are playing twin peaks and a lot of Hitch...

i just read the book, Are You in the House Alone

I had the weirdest dream a few days ago. I dreamt that DGTS was going to be on TV and while watching it or the previews, I became creeped out. the thing is, I don't know if the scenes I saw in my dream were in the movie since I have not watched my copy yet. I don't want to watch it along an am waiting to find someone that will watch it with m. that dream was so weird!!! it has been years since i had seen any part of this movie. dreams are so weird. just wanted to share.

I know this is off topic, but I didn't know where to post it, and didn't want to start a new thread.
