'I don't want her to have my dreams'
HELP ME FIGURE OUT THIS MOVIE!
When I was about 4 (1982) there was a semi-miniseries (aired over two nites) that I barely remember. I do remember I was as captivated by it as I was Poltergeist, but, because of my 4 year old reaction to Poltergeist (I refused to be alone for weeks, I wouldn't go to the bathroom or take a bath without someone standing inside the door) I wasn't allowed to watch it so I had to sneak. Unfortunately, I missed the ending. The movie itself was a huge topic of discussion for my family, but when they were talking about it I covered my ears because I didn't want the ending to be spoiled before I got to see it. I never got to see it again and my family has no recollection of it.
The parts that I do remember are extremely similar to some of the descriptions about 'Don't go to Sleep.' The movie I saw was about a couple who were relocating thier young son and daughter to another house/city/whatever because of a tragedy that happened (The car accident in Don't go to Sleep?). I think I remember something about an older sister. The younger brother and sister were forced to share a room and I remember that the room had tons of porcelain dolls (that I remember coming to life [of course] and possibly burning on fire). The part that I found oddly creepy (and will ultimately help me find the movie) is the line that the young boy said when forced to share a room with his sister: "I don't want her to have my dreams."
Of course I haven't seen this movie since it's original airing and I haven't seen Poltergeist in years, but I was watching the E! True Hollywood Story about the Poltergeist curse and kept thinking that I remember the little boy (Oliver Robbins) from something else and I'm wondering if this is indeed it. He would have been the brother. Does anybody know for sure?
