STOP THE REMAKE

We, the purists out there, need to start a petiton to stop the dishonor that is to be done to a classic film! I bet you anything that on the big screen, this will lose all of the atmosphere/mystique/eeriness that the low-budget 1980s television version had! Bitches.

GodlyJr's goin down!!

Ned Wynn, the original writer, is scheduled to adapt the telefilm into a screenplay. Why on earth would you want to stop the remake if he is directly involved in its creation?

reply

Wait, they're remaking this movie? Strange. If the original writer is adapting it, it might be good. But yeah, strange choice to see this being remade. It's like a cult classic that many mainstreamers dont' even know about.

reply

it would be pretty awesome if john carpenter or wes craven remade this.

Wes Craven? I really like this man. He seems so nice in interviews and I appreciate his talent and really like some of his movies, when I was a teenager, (I'm a mom now :)), but one of the whole reasons, I was scared watching this movie was because it was NOT all about gore and bloody death scenes. It had great suspense and just fantastic! It will be so disappointing if it ends up being a slasher film.

What Remake

Where did you get this infomation from???

If there is talk of doing a remake of "Don't go to Sleep". It's seems like a good idea if Ned Wynn is going to get involved with the project, after all it's one of the rarest movies around.

This remake might even promote the original movie and get it recognised as an underated classic. which in my opinion is long overdue.

The only thing is whoever is remaking it. Stick to the original story.

Hi everyone,

I came across an article on the internet which is slightly strange.

Apparently there is suspose to be a sequel to Don't go to Sleep directed by Rob Zombie being made.

The story centers around Mary who in this case is released from the mental hospital, who finds works managing a local Pizza joint.

But there is a twist in this sequel. The person who plays Mary in this one is not Robin Ignico who I would have though would have reprised her role. It's actually Kristin Cumming.
