I own the $10 DVD, which is only available in "full screen" format, which is unfortunate. Some of the camera moves (most notably during Sidney's reading of Clifford's play at the "partners' desk" and the final shot of the theatre marquee) would really benefit from being able to see the WHOLE FRAME!

DVD gods, please give this some thought!

I agree. I also own the Pan-and-Scan version (only because it's one of my favorite movies and that's all that's available) but ever since I bought it I wished they would put out a proper widescreen version. Still waiting....

The only widescreen release I'm aware of on DVD is actually here in Australia, on a disc in PAL format and coded for Region 4. It's in the full 1.85:1, and it's even anamorphic.

Pretty rare for us -- we usually get releases that have far fewer features than the releases in R1 or R2, and often it's us who get just a full-frame transfer, when everyone else gets widescreen.

This film has recently aired in the UK, with a wonderfully crisp and detailed widescreen image - I was thinking it would be a great candidate for Blu-Ray.

this angers me greatly, I was just about to buy this on amazon, and now I'm not going to because I refuse to pay money for a pan and scan. I'm pissed.

Same here. I have the DVD and the picture is a tragedy, especially for such a great film.

I'd settle for just a decent, widescreen DVD, but having this on Blu-ray would really be great.

Warner Archive has just announced that Deathtrap will be available on Blu-ray in widescreen through their website on November 20.

The Blu Ray from Warner Archive is great, and in widescreen.

The screen format on mine is crap too. It looks like it's missing quite a bit on the sides. Frustrating.
