I agree with almost everything, except that I absolutely despise all Shrek movies

Awesome review! This movie is almost the same age as me (I'm 29) and this has been my favourite film since I was about 3 (or so my mother tells me). I definitely agree that kids films aren't the same as they used to be. They're too... fluffy? silly? kid-like?

I guess this one will always stand apart (great costumes/creatures/soundtrack...) but I'm just very biased
