Did anyone else ever wonder why she only had the one eye? Or maybe figure out the answer?
I used to have the Dark Crystal moviebook a good few years back and it finally let me find out the answer... which was kinda obvious in hindsight.
Aughra saw the last conjunction; the one that created the Skeksis and the Ur-u/mystics. She kept one eye closed, since I'd imagine she knew the old adage about staring into the sun, and figured staring into three would be even less healthy.
