Anyone thinks this movie aged well?

Afterall all these years! it's such a timeless masterpiece of film that has stood the test of time while Henson's "Labyrinth" hasn't aged too good.

"Oh wow, good Nyborg"-Heavy Metal.

This movie looks like it could have been made in the early 90s at least before CG took over completely, except for maybe Henry Selick's movies.

This is exactly why we need to be patient with this sequel. If the original was conceived in 1976, but didn't hit theaters until 1982, then we should be patient since this sequel began planning in 2006 and won't be out until 2011.

"Of course not. You're a boy."

I compared both again on Blu-Ray and I would say Dark Crystal is a more "perfect" movie.

Strange that you mention it, while the story is darker and better than anything of today, I was just pondering is someone was going to update it, with Jen and Kira having more expressive faces?

I can see where you're coming from, because I hate to mess with a classic, but I do know that there were many "critics" who didn't think the original puppets were "expressive" enough. Personally, I think the puppeteers Jim Henson and Kathryn Mullen did a great job of portraying emotion even with the limitations of the puppets, because emotion is also in body language, not just facial expressions.

Hmmm bit older than you - but your right. When this, Labyrinth and Willow etc first came out, I didn't see the at the cinema, but over the past few years have caught up on them. Most things that had Jim Henson's name against them rank fairly highly in my books.
