the language (at least for the most part) that Kira speaks when she first meets Jen is Serbo-Croatian? I'm a Serb and I noticed this when re-watching for the first time in a good 15 years yesterday that she asks him where he's from in Serbian, then tells the ... oh bugger, forgotten its name... the big thingy, to get down and go back, also in Serbian. Any significance?

Sounds foreign/alien and has a good roll/trill to it. Probably someone in the cast could speak it, or someone in scripting.

In the movie Hangar 18, theres a bit of alien recorded voice. It is Swahili if I recall correctly.

Yes, it is partly Serbo-Croatian.
