I could watch this movie every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it

I don't know what it is about this movie, it just never gets boring or old each time I boot it up. It's something about how immersive the stories are. Even with not a lot of screentime to set up the premise and characters, it somehow manages to immediately draw you in. No other anthology movie can do this (maybe Creepshow 2, although I wish there was at least one more tale in there; felt too short).

If they tried to make something similar today, they could just not pull it off. Everything today is just too overproduced, shot on digital. It doesn't have the soul that Creepshow does.

The last time I saw it would have been circa 1983/84 on cable, I might have seen it twice back then. I just watched it over the weekend on blu ray for the first time since. If you would have asked me beforehand what was in it, I would have said, "Something about a guy turning into a plant and an old asshole who hates cockroaches getting killed by them." But once I started watching, it all started coming back to me. Well, actually I didn't remember anything about the bookends with the kid and his dickhead dad, or Father's Day. But everything else, I remembered a lot. Specific stuff, like "OK now Ted Danson is going to look right into the video camera and swear revenge." Almost 40 years ago but still filed away in my brain, IMO that's the mark of a great movie.
