Creepshow Power Rankings!

Hey everyone! Just for fun, I decided to rank all 8 stories from both Creepshows from least favorite to most. Granted, there's not one story I truly didn't like from either flick, but choices had to be made! Feel free to chime in with your opinions and how'd you rank em.

8. The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill
7. They're Creeping Up On You!
6. The Hitchhiker
5. Old Chief Wooden Head
4. Father's Day
3. Something To Tide You Over
2. The Raft
1. The Crate

I flip-flopped on 1 & 2 for a while, but the crate monster just narrowly edges out Pancho & the sentient oil slick.

My rankings from least favorite to most:

8. The Hitchhiker
7. Jordy Verill
6. Creeping Up On You
5. Old Chief Woodenhead
4. The Raft - Scary as shyt! I still am scared to death of this segment. Will never swim in a lake. The Blob really scared me too which is probably why this one terrifies me so much.
3. Father's Day
2. Something to Tide You Over
1. The Crate - still my favorite, but only marginally above Tide You Over and Father's Day.

Didn't really like creepshow 2, but the original is one of my all-time favorites... My rankings:

5. Tide - despite Nielsen's performance, my vote for weakest entry...
4. Jordy - great story where we get to sympathize with the main character... King turns in a great performance here...
3. Creeping - I love insects in horror... Especially of this magnitude... God bless EG Marshall...
2. Father's Day - May be the corniest of the bunch, but this is my absolute favorite zombie ever committed to film... His laugh, post-Ed Harris skull crush is awesome, even after hearing it a thousand times...
1. The Crate - actually plays out like a King-penned story. I love the characters, the music is perfect, and the ending is no let-down. Great dialogue, too. Aside from 'They're Creeping Up On You', arguably the most quotable segment. 'I drove it there with the remains of three human beings... Well... Two human beings and Wilma.' Fantastic. That piano riff gives me chills just thinking about it...

8. The Hitchiker (even though you get to see Dr. Goodhead from Moonraker topless)
7. Old Chief Wooden Head (classic King, but poorly executed)
6. The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill (I don't hate it, but it's goofy and sad I think)
5. The Raft
4. Father's Day
3. They're Creeping Up On You (I LOVE E.G. Marshall in this, hilarious)
2. Something To Tide You Over
1. The Crate

Honorable mention to the Prologue/Epilogue from Creepshow. Two words: Tom Atkins.

It's a tough choice between 1 and 2 on my list. It's hard to argue with the star power and cool plot of Something To Tide You Over, but I thought the seaweed monster ending was pretty weak. The Crate isn't as cool of a story, but Hal Holbrook is epic, and Adrienne Barbeau is hilarious. I really love all the stories from the first one, except Jordy Verrill.

See you guys at the 10 year prison reunion - Ben Richards
