The crate

Written on the crate is something about the arctic. Did the monster come from the Arctic?

It says "Ship to Horlicks University Via Julia Carpenter Arctic Expedition June 19, 1834”

Just like The Thing found in the Arctic, this creature was probably hibernating for ages until some idiot woke it up and naturally it was very hungry!

If you mean John Carpenter's version of The Thing, that was set in the *Antarctic* - South, not North.

It mentions an Arctic expedition in 1834. It lets you're imagination run wild. Is the creature some sort unknown species of ape, a Yeti frozen in the Arctic that not only can eat large amounts of food but can also live hundreds of years, if not forever. Or was that just the box it was hidden in?

It's a pipe dream, but if there was a new CREEPSHOW film, they should make one of the stories a prequel to this one. Have it about an Arctic expedition, explorers find the frozen specimen and bring it back to the university. It thaws and kills several people. They realize they can't kill it, so one man manages to tranquilize it and lock it away.

One theory I also wonder was if Henry Northrup knew about the creature. Maybe his ancestor could be the guy who locked it away.

One can dream to having a prequel made of The Crate. I wish they would. That segment is so good it could of been it's own movie.

Yes. Yeti like creatures may have lived there, at least in certain fiction. "Fluffy" as it's called, well, it was very angry over being disturbed, and also hungry due to being shut inside a large airtight container. However, should Fluffy have not have starved to death?
