Just Desserts/Something To Tide You Over

I definitely plan on buying the documentary, but just curious - do they go into detail about the drowning scenes in Something To Tide You Over? I've always been curious how they filmed those safely and specifically, how they filmed Ted Danson's head under water.

There's no doubt he's really under water, but how? Do they get into this on the documentary?

They show Ted Danson's head in a tank. I think it was Tom Savini says he had a sledgehammer ready in case the water didn't drain in time after the scene was filmed. So he would be ready to smash the glass. I'm not sure how long they discuss that scene, but they do show him in the tank.

Just Desserts is a great documentary worth buying for any Creepshow fan!

Awesome! Thanks! I definitely plan on buying it, this was one of the favorites I grew up on as a kid. I've definitely seen him in make up *after* the drowning, but have always wondered how they filmed his head actually under water - I assumed it was something like Saw V when Scott Patterson had his head stuck in a tank of water.

I also wondered if the scenes where Ted and his girlfriend are buried, when the water's coming in, how that was all filmed. I'll hopefully meet Tom again at a convention and if I do (and the answers I want aren't in the documentary) I'll be sure to ask! Thanks again! =)
