Does this film really take place in NEBRASKA?

I can't recall ever having seen WHERE this movie is supposed to take place & always assumed it to be "Generic Big, bad City, USA".... but watching the film tonight I noticed that during the scene where the new teacher (Norris) is getting introduced to the principal, the principal says something to him along the lines of "You're not in Nebraska, anymore. You're teaching at Lincoln High" & started thinking, "WHAT? Is this film supposed to take place in Lincoln, Nebraska?!"!

Anyone know anything about this?

Norris has come from Nebraska

Hmm...I think "You're not in Nebraska anymore" pretty much gives the answer, doesn't it? ;)

NO THIS MOVIE WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE IN CHICAGO IL. HENCE YOU SEE THE TEACHERS IN THE TEACHER LOUNGE READING THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE. AND MR. NORRIS AND STEGMAN HAVE IL LICENSE PLATES. BUT THE MOVIE WAS ACTUALLY FILMED IN CANADA SOME WHERE

It was filmed in Toronto. I remember seeing Lake Ontario and I can recognize Lake Ontario.

If it were set in Lincoln, Nebraska, the principal would hardly say, "You're not in Nebraska anymore." They don't say exactly where it is, but it's not Nebraska.
