Everyday I check the internet and I am so happy to find out, that they still haven't announced a remake of this cult movie yet. Hopefully it stays this way!

It didn't look to me that Patsy necessarily died in the end. She could have survived very injured or crippled.
There could have been a trial but have Mr. Norris getting off in rescuing his wife and self-defense. He could have learned he was a relative of Chuck Norris; he seemed to finally get some of the "Chuck Norris" power at the end.
