Other UK Miniseries you would recommend
I'm looking into this and "One Summer". What else is really good and not necessarily on these subjects?
shareAnother Alan Bleasedale series 'GBH'. It has similar themes but is actually has quite a different tone to BFTBS. Equally brilliant, very funny, moving and poignant.
shareScully was not a mini as such but was short-lived comedy drama (although being half hour in the UK it usually fits into the sitcom mould).
I remember Johnny Jarvis well too. That was a London drama from that era too (82-83) and dealt with leaving school, unemployment, etc.
One Summer was like the Scouse version of it in a way; two young British school leavers facing petty crime, bullies, unemployment, etc etc.
Prospects from 1986 dealt with similar themes.Unemployment, scraping by, dodging dodgy situations.
Fox was a gritty drama I vaguely remember and all my older brothers, dad, mum,sisters, ec remember. It starred Ray Winstone and was about a violent criminal family I think.
The quality of TV back then in 1982-84 was brilliant. Loads of great Northern and London based stuff.
