Incest?

Am I the only one who was a bit perplexed when Neil and Madeleine (brother and sister) MADE OUT towards the end of the movie??? And she had her hands all over him? That was no regular brother/sister affection.

So maybe thats why he was so very intent on finding her? Because she was his true love? And she was still a virgin b/c she only longed for her brother? It was just so awkward.

reply

LOL, I noticed that too. Kissing, on the lips? WTF? Madeline also kinda acts jealous when she realizes her brother had been married.

reply

They were getting ready for a threesome.

they took too much to the Greek lifestyle

It was a short scene, just a few seconds. I think it was meant as a platonic kiss. However, it should have been edited out or re-shot because a kiss on the lips just seems... not like platonic love!

reply

Yeah, that was creepy. Over the course of the film, I thought their relationship seemed a little weird, and that clinched it.

Peter, is your social worker in that horse?

reply

Yes, I definitely thought the same thing. Enjoyed the film though--6/10 for me.

That was a decidedly un-sister like kiss she gave him. But I don't think we're supposed to read that there has been an incestuous relationship between them. More likely the director wanted to suggest some of the evil of the ancient pagan god was in her now and she was taking it with her from the island. That was pretty hot, though!

Apparently one in five people fucks a sibling. That's a four times higher percentage than homosexuality. Yet it is much more frowned upon.
Culture is a strange beast!

You pulled that statistic right out of your loose asshole. Apparently.

You're a closeted homosexual, EvilHeadII

Kissing on the mouth was prevalent in movies and in real life prior to the AIDS epidemic. But that was a few seconds too long for sure. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
