Finally we’re in the year 2019 when this movie takes place!

Isn’t this interesting that we’re already in the year 2019, but the movie barely predicted the future correctly?

Still no flying cars. And they put the future 36 years ahead which is plenty of time. I’m trying to think what they predicted right, but nothing comes to mind really. The closest to tech is a computer/scanner that Deckard was using by voice to find the clues in the picture. We already have many voice-controlled gadgets like Amazon Echo for example so I guess that might count for something.

Indeed, now that it is November 2019
Apparently flying cars are imminent...

It predicted that we fucked up the earth pretty accurately.

Hollywood has disappointed us, yes.

I see Blade Runner as a film that’s (obviously) supposed to be set in a different universe/timeline (Atari & Pan Am were still a thing in the sequel for a reason). In my view, it’s rather easy to accept that

As for those darn flying cars? To be fair, for decades they’ve been predicted in films, shows, novels, etc that are set in the future, so big whoop.

I think flying cars, at least the way they're depicted in Blade Runner, Back to the Future, are against the laws of physics. If not, Doc better keep busy because I sure want one!
