It is an inferior cut than the miraculous Final Cut, we know Scott doesn't know shít what he's doing but it strikes me that the theatrical cut has basically been erased from the face of the earth, kinda like the original Exorcist.
Unlike George Lucas, who did everything he could to keep the original version of the original Star Wars trilogy from being put on Blu-Ray and other high quality media, Ridley Scott has not done that.
"Why doesn't he want the original Star Wars on dvd?"
Lucas does not want to put the original version of the original trilogy on Blu-ray.
In 1978, Star Wars won seven Academy Awards. But if you want to watch that original version, the first of George Lucas’s soon to be seven-part saga, you’ll find it difficult. In fact, it’s actually impossible to buy an official copy of Star Wars as it was first released. Lucas doesn’t want you to see that version. Instead, he wants you to watch the continuously updated special editions—movies with added CGI, changed sound effects, and whole new scenes.
* Compare that to Ridley Scott and Blade Runner. Ridley puts no artificial barriers on anyone watching the BR theatrical cut.
"Well it doesn't show on tv anymore"
Lots of older movies are no longer on basic TV. How often is "2001" on basic TV? And you will never see the original version of Star Wars on TV and you can't buy an official copy.
"and revival screenings use the final cut."
If you are going to take the trouble to go to a theater and pay money to see a revival showing of Blade Runner, then either buy the theatrical cut on Blu-Ray or watch it using the Internet.
* Scott (and the studio) makes all versions of Blade Runner legally available including the theatrical cut on Blu-Ray as I already showed you with Amazon.
- Don't have a Blu-Ray player or don't want to spend any money? You can easily watch a pirated version of the theatrical cut right now on the Internet.
"the original Blade Runner is not readily available"
Dude I gave you a link to stream the theatrical cut of "Blade Runner" for free. You could watch it on your computer. Otherwise buy it at Amazon as I've told you 3 X now.
"How many updates has Star Wars had?"
The topic is theatrical cuts. That is in the title of your thread. The original Star Wars trilogy was shown in theaters in 1977, 1980 and 1983. Official versions of those theatrical cuts are not for sale due to Lucas.
But official versions of the theatrical cuts for The Exorcist and Blade Runner are for sale. Big difference.
The final cut sucks. The colour grading is awful, and even the unicorn sequence which some didn't care for in the first place is better in the director's cut.
the theatrical cut has basically been erased from the face of the earth
The theatrical cut is available in all the box sets of it, on youtube and is in the National Film Registry. So no.

It's not broadcasted anywhere, it's not the version the general population sees. The final cut has taken precedence.
The last time I saw Blade Runner on broadcast TV, it was the Director's Cut (on IFC). This was two years ago, so maybe things have changed since. Also, Netflix was showing the Theatrical a few months ago. So it's not always as if Final Cut is de facto.
Even so, it's commercially available in stores as a boxset; I've seen it recently at Best Buy. And between brick-n-mortar stores and Amazon carrying it, it's not hard to find.

Blade Runner Theatrical Cut was on HBO last year. I was going to watch it but it was taken off before I did. So I ended up watching the final cut instead. If I had watched it on HBO, I might not have fallen in love with BR again.
