Rutger Hauer's final monologue.

Pure poetry. One of the best moments in movie history.

Even more amazing is that the monologue was ad-libbed by Hauer without notification to the director, using parts from the script and much of his own creation. Bravo!

Incredible.That scene was perfect.

Yes, IF he was talking to a human cop.

If he was talking to another Replicant -- as Ridley Scott would have you believe -- that scene completely loses all its punch.

Me, I believe Deckard was human... :)

Edisonnoside's claim is only partially true. The 1981 script has Batty saying:

I've seen things...
(long pause)
seen things you little people
wouldn't believe... Attack ships
on fire off the shoulder of Orion
bright as magnesium... I rode on
the back decks of a blinker and
watched c-beams glitter in the dark
near the Tanhauser Gate.
(pause)
all those moments... they'll be gone.

Rutger Hauer had alway liked poetry and had written some himself. He thought the dialog was clumsy and told Scott he'd like to change it a little, to which Scott agreed.

Reaction time is a factor in this, so please pay attention.
