Why Deckard is human

Deckard is human because that's how Ford understood the character, and how he played it. So did Hauer, who played a replicant opposite a human--he'd have made other choices if he thought Deckard was just like him; instead, he's trying to teach a human something about real humanity; something Deckard finally realizes.

Both actors went into the production with that understanding, and that's how they played their parts. Both disagreed with Scott's later decision that Deckard was a replicant.

Scott would have to replace his two leads' entire performances--not simply add a scene with a unicorn from what looked like a deodorant commercial.

But it wasn't a "later" decision by Scott. Scott conducted the original film project back in 81-82 with the agenda to hint Deckard was a replicant. It's in the history books, no viewer can change that with any assertion in a forum disputing it.

You know, I've lost count how many times I think of unicorns while applying deodorant. But then, I also always think of unicorns when I'm having a root canal done.

There's something about biscupid drilling and axila fumigants that just scream unicorn.

Mhm and DaVinci wanted to paint a flying saucer above Gioconda's head, but the client said no can do isn't it obvious she's a reptilian?

Maybe that is exactly how Scott wanted it ... Ford not trying to act as a replicant must have certainly played into the cards of the director. After all, Deckard is different from Batty & Co, he actually thinks he's human. Well done!

So you have noticed the most blatant in-your-face hint but not the more subtle ones that were already there in the Theatrical Cut?
