Thanksgiving Day Football?

Curious if there is an annual football game between the University of Texas vs. Texas A&M for bragging rights. The game is a big part of the film after all. Are these games still played every Thanksgiving?

At one time a big yes. However, A&M bolted to the SEC. Since then, most other Texas schools all of a sudden don't like the Aggies.

And it depends who you talk to as to why the rivalry was stricken from the schedule. As of late, UT hasn't been too sterling and A&M has enjoyed some resurgence...as have Baylor, TCU, and kinda' sorta' Texas Tech.

The reason the other schools use is that A&M is no longer in the Big 12. Many big state rivals are of different conferences. Florida/Florida State; Clemson/Carolina, Georgia/Georgia Tech, Miami and the rest of Florida; Kentucky/Louisville; and others.

Thanks for the info. I was just curious about the Thanksgiving football games down in Texas. I know that the Cowboys always have a game scheduled in Dallas every Thanksgiving. It's some sort of tradition; remember when the 'Boys were named America's Team?
