Hah,"69"!

reply

Definately needs a Blu-Ray release! One of my favorite musicals.

reply

Suposed to be on Blu-Ray March 8th.

Got mine today. Picture looks much better than the DVD. The sound is ok, just a basic stereo track. Supplements are the same as the DVD (trailer, bloopers, making of). Nothing new. But the picture is worth the upgrade, in my opinion. Would have LOVED a commentary from Burt, Dolly and Jim Nabors.

reply

What is the actual Blu-Ray release date? Some said March 8 - other(s) March 15. I preordered mine weeks ago from Amazon but haven't received it yet.

reply

I got mine from Amazon also...came yesterday.

reply

So I guess it did come out yesterday. Instead of March 15?

reply

I still haven't got mine. Just curious- where do you live?

reply

Los Angeles. I pre ordered on 12/29, which shouldn't matter. Amazon site shows that it's in stock and if it's ordered today, it will arrive Saturday with two day shipping. Not sure why you haven't gotten yours. May want to contact Amazon?

reply

Thanks. If it doesn't arrive today, I may see if Walmart has it. I'd probably like to have two copies anyway. I love it that much.

reply

Needless to say Walmart doesn't have it - maybe due to the title, and no Blu-Ray in my mail Cant even find a confirmation of my pre-order! I'd still puzzled why March 8 and 15 were release dates...is there a difference in the format rating?

reply

Walmart stocked the VHS & DVD, so the title itself isn't an issue - but they're irritating about stocking new releases (particularly of old films) and seem to favor DVD over blu-ray (unless it's less than a week old, incredibly popular, or in a bargain bin).

I pre-ordered both this and "Xanadu" on amazon and didn't get a shipping notice until Friday. I was getting antsy and that's how I discovered the doubled release dates for both titles (both Universal Pictures releases). I started looking around and it seems the only difference is that one comes with a coupon code to get a ticket discount on some forthcoming movie. Big whoop.

I hate to be a"whiner" but still no Blu-Ray in the mail today. (March 12) I finally got through to Amazon Customer Service and spoke to someone in the Philippines. In his broken English he apologizes and said he would send out an emailor confirming our conversation. One never came. Called him back and he suggested I order again even though the price then was 9.98 but now 14.98.

I got angry. He ended the chat.

reply

I have a feeling that I'm about to run into the same situation with "Xanadu" that you have with "Best Little..."

I had pre-ordered it weeks ago, and I see the same thing that the above poster was referring to...Amazon has 2 pre order pages for both of these movies, and on both there is a release date of the 8th and the 15th. My "Xanadu" fell under the 15th date, and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow but still hasn't shipped. Sigh.

reply

Good luck!

reply

Did yours arrive today?

reply

Hopefully mine will finally come tomorrow since I paid extra for shipping

reply

DVD didn't arrive today - I paid 10.78 extra for 2-day shipping. I'm pissed. I'll call customer service when I get back from lunch!

reply

Whoever wrote up my second order (since I never got the first one) put in a wrong addess which screwed up things to get the DVD today. That's what I get I guess for talking to someone who can't understand proper English!

I guess this shipment will be returned to Amazon because my incorrect address.

reply

I finally got mine. Have watched it twice already.

reply

Finally got it yesterday.

not sure why Wal Mart doesn't carry it.. but we seem to carry it QUITE often here in ours (Oklahoma). In fact right now we have the previous DVD release, and I snagged up a copy of the blu ray. Its part of, I think its a mother's day special section with different romantic comedy/musicals.

Just a FYI.. while the new blu ray release doesn't include a streaming UV copy.. You can take it to a local Wal Mart and they can add one in HDX (BD stream quality for $2). I got mine on my VUDU account as soon as I could. LOL.

Yeah, my local Wally World had it on their Mother's Day themed endcap (not gonna touch that one) and have since integrated it into their main set alongside other older films that have (presumably) gotten recentish BluRay treatments (Batteries Not Included, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Howard the Duck are in there as well).

They're priced at $9.99, so a tad above the $7.88 going rate in the giant morass that is the bargain BluRay bin, though I'd say that will be their ultimate destination once the next batch of oldies but... oldies take their place.
