Need help finding a movie

Here's the deal Im 24 years old now and when I was 4-6 years old there was a movie that was shown on tv all the time and I havent seen it in years. I dont know the name of it but when I was younger I loved this movie a lot. Heres what I remember from the movie....

The movie starts with a young boy who gets a branded mark put on the palm of his hand. Some witch or something burns a mark into his hand. The baby is then raised and later becomes a powerful swordsman ship or something.

I think its one of these fantasy movies like Willow, Legend, or something esle. I dont remember much more about the movie (was like 20 years ago)

I think the dude goes on some important journey and he has a black bird that helps him on the way...

ANyone have any clue what the movie is called???

No its not a joke.... I was serious is it really this movie???

I asked my friend and he told me it might be this movie.... are u 100% SURE???

WOW thanks dude...this is the movie Im looking for. Where can I buy it cheap. I see it on Ebay for about 11 bucks including shipping...Does Wal-Mart or any stores sell it cheap like in their 5.50 bins???
