Yeah but Tonya Roberts was a 10. So that rounds the rating up to 6.5. ;)

And Rip Torn's false nose another 10 points, and for having a name like Rip Torn in the first place... another 10 points, lol!

No but seriously, I like this film a lot. I guess you haven't seen 2 and 3 yet!!

reply

Oh God, they made a third?!?! I saw about 10 minutes of the second one and bugged out. I saw Beastmaster when I was young and loved it, so even though I now know it's not the best of movies, I still get a kick out of watching it (yes, I own a copy). But yeah, his NOSE!!! Good grief, it entered a scene 3 minutes before the rest of him!

"Zombies, man. They creep me out."

LOL!!

Yea, the 3rd was a T.V. movie, to kick off the Series (Season) I think.

At least it went back to the time and place of the original, even if it was very poor!

A bit like Highlander 3 had more in common with 1 than 2 did.

Take care.

It may not be very good, but it is deliciously bad.

I like to refer to movies like this as being "craptastic." From a critical point of view they are truly terrible, but from a sheer guilty pleasure point of view, how can you not be entertained by them?

I was 12 when I first saw this movie in the theater so needless to say, I wasn't critical of things like bad acting or silly plot lines, and I loved this movie for what it was rather than to complain about what it wasn't.

reply

No -- a truly bad movie is one that is intolerable / unwatchable, yet The Beastmaster is entirely watchable.
