Just found "Beastmaster" on DVD...

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the original "Beastmaster" always been fairly hard to come by on DVD (at least in the U.S.)?

Cuz I just stumbled across it yesterday in a "Dollar General" discount store. It's in a 4-film "Fantasy Collectors Set" packaged in a cheap-ass cardboard sleeve, with three other random SyFy lookin' dragons/swords flicks (one is called "Dragonquest," but the other names escape me right now)... for three bucks!

My wife and I watched it last night and the picture quality isn't the best (it's a bit dark looking and appears to have been dubbed from an old VHS tape) but for that price I'm not gonna complain. I hadn't seen this movie in 20 years at least.

IMDb sez that there are two different run times for this movie (118 minutes and a 90 minute "video release" version, whatever that is) but the version on this DVD is the full 118 minute cut.

Just thought some of ya might like to know...

I found it pretty easily. I think in the 80s and early to mid 90s it may have been tough to locate it, but by the 2000s it was much easier to find. It was the same way with the movie The Final Countdown. Now you can find both quite easily on DVD. I think it became easier because enough fans complained to get it on DVD. But glad to hear you snagged a copy. I have my copy and my husband got one but it was a set with other 80s movies.
