Time for a new barbarian film

I would never want to see this film be remade, but I miss the plethora of barbarian type films that came out back in the 1980's. I guess they were all riding on the fame of Conan (and the massive popularlity of D&D). The remake of Conan was pretty good, but I'd love to see a fairly original take on the genre. It's been too long.

i agree. i wouldn't like to see a remake, but a sequel, perhaps about dar's offspring, would be cool. they could ignore the 2nd and 3rd films entirely, too.

Hells yeah! The newest iteration of Conan was god awful. I liked Jason Momoa well enough as Conan, but the plot was ridiculous! Why the need for such hum-drum when there is sucha wealth of Conan material ready for adaptation? I would love some more of the 80's fantasy/barbarian films. I don't want to see the Beastmaster remade, but I'd love either a direct sequel to Conan the Barbarian or for makers to try Conan again and get it right this time. We haven't had a truly good fantasy series since the LotR trilogy. Frankly, the Hobbit was so overdone it just doesn't have much re-watchability - too drawn out and boring. Anyway, more Barbarian fantasy! Supposedly Robert Rodriguez is doing a live action Fire and Ice, based on the 80's animated Frazetta film. I've been excited for that, but no news in a while...

Hard to imagine this would get remade. I read somewhere that a Druss movie was being considered, which would be awesome.

The rights to CONAN left Marvel recently so maybe someone else will make a new movie.
