Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose ....

They played that damn song three times. The soundtrack was really annoying, but the movie is fun to watch for all the wrong reasons.

I wish they played that song three more times, i love it.

The real title is "Try Not To Break My Heart" by Linda Stevens-Foote and it's my favorite song in the movie!

I thought that song was pretty sweet. The theme song was likewise very cool and mellow.

What can you expect it is a classic 80's film that they no longer make movies like this anymore now.

I recall taking this girl to see this at the theater in the summer of 82. in california, after that we went to the mall and we were in a record store and there was the soundtrack, so i bought it and we went back to my place and got some beer and sat there and listened to the record and laughed and had a great time. I miss the early 80's everything was so much better back then. good clean fun. I wonder if that girl still thinks about that day..

reply

That is cool to hear about you going to see the movie in the theater back in 1982 and then going to the mall and buying the record. Once you were done there going back to your place. That is good to hear about and I have to agree with you about the early 80's were so much easier and fun back then.

I remember very clearly too, that the theater we saw it in only showed one 2 minute or less preview, then the movie came on. Not like today where you have to sit through an hour of commericals.. Then another hour of previews.. Man, i miss those ealry 80's. things were so less complicated then today..

reply

That is cool that they only showed one 2 minute or less preview. I know what you mean about today because you have to sit through like 20 or 30 minutes of commercials and then the previews which is totally crazy. I would not mind watching the previews on future movies that are coming out but cut the commercials out of it. I was at the time when this came out 10 years old and I do miss those days of the early 80's as well. Yes things were so less complicated and you did not have to worry if it was "Politically Correct" or not have to watch watered down movies today.

I miss seeing movies that would push the envelope a little in Hollywood. I am hoping that eventually those days may come back once again because history does repeat itself.

Hey, people wern't sissy's about everything like they are today. These day's you can or be sued for just disagreeing with someone or even yelling at them. Its all about lawsuits and money. And mega taxes ect. Sadly those freedom day's of the early 80's is gone forever. But the problem today is there's wayyyyyyyyy too many people in this world now. More than there was back then . One thing you didn't see too much around 1980-1983, was The money people spend today. 30.000$ cars. 300.000$ houses. everyones got a college degree, back then, alot of peoples parents didnt have the money to send their kids to school. Its just really diffrent times. Heres an example of how times have changed from today vrs then.
If you go to any party today. a party full of 30-40 people, no one smokes. No one.. if someone does its only 1 or 2 out of 40. Back in the 70's and 80's 90% of everyone smoked... Its just times have changed. Oh, and fast food tasted better back then too..

reply

Yes I have to agree with you there on how the times have changed compared to what they were really like back then.

saint-21, you are right on target! I was around then too and everything you said here is correct. We are a bunch of sissies now, too afraid to party at all. No one seems to have any real fun anymore like we did in the early 80's. The media scares everyone and they make sizeable profits by doing so. Back then, people got along much more.

Rob, Yeah, I agree about political correction, especially the feminazi aspect. They go way overboard.

I did not know which post to respond to because you replied a few times. Well inflation has caused everything to go up in price. I am sure money stretched even further than what it does now. When I worked my first job as a bagger in a grocery store. I could remember when $60 would last me a week. It only lasts now a day in a half. Going to a movie now is expensive. I can remember paying $3.75 or $4.25 for a late movie. Now it runs where I live at $9.75 to $15.00. That is nuts!

Yeah, I don't even watch TV now. Just cop (pig) shows and tons of soccer mom ads. You're right, it used to be easy to leave your TV on one channel for hours and most people did. Same with radio stations. I remember when DJ's actually took requests for songs. I tell this to younger people and they usually respond with "No way!" lol

I really did not mind the song being played three times during the movie to be honest with you because I liked it. The movie was a lot of fun to watch!
