Was this a grindhouse

I thought 80's was too late for Grindhouse, but people have told me it was.

I always thought the term "grindhouse" refers to the cinemas that used to show porn, kung-fu and cheap action/horror/sci-fi.

Grindhouse movies can only be those that were shown in actual grimey cinemas.
Like the ones in (LA - 42ND ST - BOSTONS COMBAT ZONE) E.T.C.

I am sure Basket case was shown in some sleazey wild movie houses, but it would be easier to call it a b-movie. (a very cool b-movie at that.)

Yeah, agreed. It's much more of a B movie than a grindhouse. There's not nearly enough nudity or sex for it to be a grindhouse flick in my opinion.

But it is a very cool movie. The creature had an amazing look to it. And his roar? Very awesome... worth a look if you're into the genre.

TheBeardedWonder - Why does a film have to have a lot of nudity or sex to be considered a grindhouse film? I consider "Cannibal Ferox" and "Hell of the Living Dead" to be some of the finest of the genre, and neither of those movies have any sex.

Grindhouse was around until the VHS and home video era in the mid 80's.
