First off,I'm a hardcore horror fan and this is the film that got me loving them. My dad told me to check it out when I was like five. Been hooked since. Okay, anyone notice when Dewayne was talking to the hooker he called Belial "Dewayne"?
shareyeah i didnt get that either. I thought maybe Belial was talking through Duane? i have no idea. Not sure why they didnt cut that, then again, it seemed like a long take. Maybe they just thought...what the hell.

after belial kills the blond bimbo and duane shows up, you can see her belly moves, like when you breath deeply. its so funny.
or when the old bastard who thinks he can steal duane and belials money and getaway with it. well doesent he get a surprise, look at his face when belial throws himself on his face, the old bastard does actually smiles, it cracks me up everytime.
*beep* dude , just read your comment. Hardcore horror fan too , bought Basket Case last year in a video store clearance of all there old vhs , but didnt wind up watching it till febuary. Anyways it became one of my all time favs and i got to check that out now, what scene was that again?

What's in the basket?" and he says "My brother" and she says "What is he a midget" and he says "NO he's a freak..." and then goes on to sort of explain him and in the speach he calls Belial "Duane"

My assumption is that Duane is so dead drunk that since he's telepathically connected to Belial, Belial is feeling the effects of the alcohal too.
But I think Belial is talking through Duane at that point in the film, just before Duane passes out and has that flashback of him and Belial's unhappy childhood with their abusive father.
I always thought it was Belial who woke Dwayne up to get the basket inside, seeing how drunk he was and then fell alseep and then suddenly opened his eyes.

I love this movie, but those things kinda bugged me. However, I just watched Basket Case 2 for the first time last night, and after seeing how Belial can 'talk through' Duane and physically control him, they make more sense.

Just got done watching the first and second films back to back. Yeah, I noticed that too. I heard Dwayne call Belial Dwayne but thought I just wasn't listening close enough. Never noticed it the hundred times I watched it before.

shareI noticed it immediately. It's a mistake. Don't retcon it into something deep like "Belial speaking through Duane".
