6.5 Rating?! Seriously guys?

What is this world coming to?

reply

What is that that supposed to mean?

We just want you to find our little girl.

reply

It means they can't believe the rating is only 6.5. It used to be lower than that even which is ridiculous.

reply

Oh, I get it now. I agree that it should have a higher rating. I'm thinking a 7.0 at the very least.

reply

It amazes me it's only a point above the execrable recent remake.

reply

You mean the 2014 remake? That rating is only currently 5.2.

reply

I rated it a 10.

reply

That makes two of us.

We just want you to find our little girl.

reply

should get a 0.5 rating.
one of the worst films ever made
bloated, over produced and ugly
saw the original on Broadway
and this monstrosity is an aberration
too ugly to watch

reply

You're delusional if you think that.

reply

A cruel rating for sure, it's a great film.

________
Armchair Critic Law 38:

If a film has a plot twist, overanalyse.

reply

The movie butchered the musical. That's why. Plus, it was a confusing mish mosh. It didn't know if it wanted to be an homage to the comic book or an adaptation of the Broadway show.

reply

Little Orphan Annie was a comic strip, not a comic book. Geez, whatever happened to human memory?

reply

I'm amazed that anyone would rate this movie above a 5.

Or a 3, for that matter.

reply

What always amazes me is that the people who hate the movie are really incapable of giving solid reason for hating it.

"Not as good as the musical" doesn't say what is so wrong with the film... and what the hell is "over produced?" In any other movie people would be complaining about the LACK of production money. If a scene bothers you speak about the scene, don't just give trite claims that mean nothing.

I mean, the most specific I've actually heard was that one person thought Aileen Quinn was ugly and thus the whole movie sucked (which makes sense how?)

I find it a little long, but it is absolutely charming.

reply

I also rated it 10/10.

reply

And I see you left us a year ago, after 5 whopping posts, so that gives you a lot of credibility with me.

reply

It's underrated for sure. I gave it a 9/10.
