what happened after the priest tells the cop to let go of the oldest son in jail i feel asleep

the preist does an exorcism and he ends up getting possessed.

The writers left that up in the air. They show Father Adamsky slowly becoming possessed while screaming "OH LORD, DO NOT FORSAKE ME!", then they cut to an outside shot of the house with a "For Sale" sign on the front lawn. So apparently the house swallowed him up or something like that, maybe he got sucked into that secret room in the basement. It was never really explained.

I think he became a part of the evil and was just absorbed by the house.
