Shocking...positively shocking.

I really like this film. I thought Martin Landau and Jack Palance were very cool in this. I think this movie is underrated.

Does any-one know if Donald Pleasence died in this movie. I've seen it quite a few times and the last time you see him, he had his ear cut by Martin Landeau and then you never see him again or his body when they cut away from the car. I was just curious.

No one will ever answer you cuz everyone is either dead or don't care. TS.

Thanks alot - you are a real help - tell me how you really feel !

As I said in my review, Martin Landau has got a way with looking supremely evil just by giving a smile that would otherwise seem to say "I'm clearly at peace with myself." And considering that he's playing a homicidal preacher in this, that says a lot for what he does with this role. Excellent.

"All humans are fools to some extent. At least, I'm a clever one." - me

By all accounts he should be dead. Doesn't seem plausible that the character could survive and the preacher wouldn't have let him off. He would have killed him.

They should have made a sequel featuring just Landau's character. He was superb. We don't actually see him die in the film so why not?

I think Martin Landau is terrific in this, as he is in all his roles. Unfortunately, the script and plot of this film leave a bit to be desired.
