I recently saw a TJ Hooker episode in widescreen HD on UniversalHD. It actually looked great and was more watchable than in 4:3, which is how it was originally shown in the '80s.
Is this wide format of TJ Hooker available on DVD, anyone know ?
It was originally broadcast in 4:3 and is matted for HD.
It is not available widescreen on DVD. Seasons 3-5 aren't available in any format on DVD.
I think it's a crime that that matted it. Show it as it was. If I want to fill the screen, I just expand it on my control and don't lose any picture.

shareIf they left it without the cropping on the top and the bottom, I could watch it in a stretch format. That is better than chopping off the top and bottom. I could also watch it in the sqaure format like all tv's used to be like.
