Hooker was a hypocrite

In Vengenace Is Mine, he talks his old partner out of killing his daughters rapist. Saying revenge is wrong.

But in Payday Pirates, Hooker becomes bent on vengence after finding out his ex wife was assaulted, and when he catches up to the guy, after they fight, he almost lets him fall to his death. I quickly lost interest.

Watched this when I was growing up. Even back then it struck me as an old fashion cop show. I do remember Shatner running about a lot and he was no spring chicken at the time and that did impress me.

T.J. Hooker was the last great cop show. Shatner was great in it. He was in pretty good shape for being 50 years old. I loved it when he ran and jumped on the cars. I just watched the pilot again and I would say that along with the Magnum P.I. pilot, it's the most entertaining pilot ever.

The situations are different. Hooker knows when to stop. He would never kill someone in cold blood. In Vengeance is Mine, he could see how his old partner just wanted to kill that guy in the end. His partner would have gone to jail and never gotten out. Hooker would always stretch the law when someone close got hurt, but he never crossed the line too far.

He was over the line and he knew it!
