TJ Hooker's Slay Ride and Mod Squad's Shockwave

I watched Mod Squad today on ME TV and While TJ Hooker was a Christmas episode, the plot and characters were very much alike. A couple with a baby who are robbing stores leave their baby at a church and Julie/Stacey who witness a shooting while off duty take the baby and then want to adopt it. Even the names and most of the dialogue was the same too.

They have taken 2 other stories from Mod Squad and used them on Charlie's Angles. These are Aaron Spelling productions.

I have seen the same thing with shows from Aaron Spelling and Glen A. Larson.
T.J. Hooker and Starsky & Hutch has a plot almost the same.

Also I remember a Fall Guy & an Automan episode that even used the same footage for the same plot.

There's a Mod Squad episode where a young boy accidentally shoots Julie. The identical ep is done again on Charlie's Angels a few years later.

That episode had a few changes too. Like he finds a little dog in the Mod Squad, but finds a kitten on Charlies Angels.

I've also noticed recycled storylines on many shows. Aaron Spelling had it a lot. Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman also did it twice.

I also remember Automan using the same footage in a biker episode from The Fall Guy.

Rick Husky took one of his Streets of San Francisco episodes, Target: Red, and remade it as the T.J. Hooker episode The Assassin. Aside from making the assassin a guy Hooker saved in Vietnam (and changing the character names), the episode is pretty much the same. William Shatner gets Karl Malden's lines, while Michael Douglas's dialogue from Streets is split between Heather Locklear and James Darren.

Sounded like the writers had writer's block and just decided to recycle a story from an earlier series.
